Cate Blanchett spoke out against
the objectifying of women
by Nathan'ette Burdine: November 1, 2017

During her speech at the InStyle Awards last week, two time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett spoke out against the objectifying of women.

Blanchett, whose speech comes amidst sexual allegations against former Hollywood power player Harvey Weinstein, told the crowd that a woman is more than her looks and no one should assume that the way a woman dresses is an invitation to have access to her body.

“I mean, we all like looking sexy but it doesn’t mean we want to fuck you,” Blanchett said.

In order to simplify her point for those who have trouble understanding, Blanchett used the way former White House Adviser/Grown Man Cartman Steve Bannon dresses.

Blanchett told the crowd, “No one says to Steve Bannon, ‘You look like a bag of trash, do you want me to throw you out!’”

Here, Blanchett is saying that folks don’t treat Bannon like shit even though he looks like shit.

However, I must say that Bannon does treat folks like shit and that is one of the main reasons he is not in the White House.

So, he may not be the best example. Having said that, Blanchett’s point is well taken.

Because at the end of the day, she is telling folks to give the women folks the same respect and benefit of the doubt that they will give to a bag of shit like Steve Bannon.
